CA-5 half mask
The CA-5 is a light-duty half-face respirator with the DIN 40 mm threaded cartridge intake — an entry-level option for workers who need intermittent reusable respiratory protection without committing to the weight and cost of a full-featured Maxiguard or CleanAir reusable system.
Where the CA-5 fits
- Light paint and solvent work — short-duration spraying or brushing.
- Workshop dust — intermittent particulate exposure.
- Secondary respiratory protection — for workers who need occasional mask use alongside their primary PPE kit.
- Budget programs — bulk fleet issue where disposables aren't practical.
Filter compatibility
Accepts DIN 40 mm threaded cartridges from the same range used by Maxiguard and CleanAir half-face respirators. P2, P3, A-series, and ABEK combined filters all available from the DIN-thread filter range.
Fit testing
Like all tight-fitting respirators, the CA-5 requires AS/NZS 1715 fit testing before occupational use. Clean-shaven only; loose-fitting alternatives (hood-style PAPR) for bearded workers.
Standards & compliance
Certified to AS/NZS 1716. Half-face configuration delivers RPF 10 with correct fit. Filters must carry their own AS/NZS 1716 certification.
Frequently asked questions
How does the CA-5 compare to a Maxiguard half-face?
The Maxiguard silicone is more durable and comfortable for daily full-shift wear; CA-5 is lighter and better suited to intermittent use. For primary daily-wear respirator programs, specify Maxiguard.
Can I use the CA-5 for asbestos work?
Only for brief low-exposure asbestos tasks with P3 filters — and even then, PAPR is preferred. For any sustained asbestos removal, use the asbestos PAPR range.
